Q:

I put foil inside on the bottom of the oven and it kind of melted into the enamal - can I replace that part or use oven cleaner to remove 79048853900

A:

Thank you for contacting SearsPartsDirect.com with your question about your Kenmore Range. I am so sorry to hear foil melted to the bottom panel. I know the point of the foil was to try and keep the oven clean and looking new. I will be happy to help you with this.

Unfortunately, once the foil has melted on the bottom panel, there isn’t a way to remove it. The best option in this case is to replace the panel. It is held in place by a couple of screws, so the good news is that the repair is fairly simple. I have included the link for you to order the bottom panel.

Oven bottom panel for Kenmore Range model 79096423400.

Safety Warning: Before you start your repair, be sure to disconnect the power supply to the range. You can do that by unplugging the range, or if it is hard wired to the house, use the circuit breaker.

I hope this answers your questions. If I can be of further assistance please respond to this thread. Thank you for choosing Sears, we appreciate your business.

The answer from Raquel S does not apply to your problem.

I am sending you an image with the instructions for removing and installing the oven door.

To clean the inner glass in the oven door you need to first remove the oven door from the range. Place the door, handle down, on a padded surface.

Remove the screws that hold the door handle on. Lift the top edge of the inner door liner from the door. The inner door liner will hinge up from the top and lift off the door. This will give you access to the inner glasses for cleaning.
