Question and Answers

0ven temperature

The oven dinging before it reaches the correct temperature can be very frustrating. I did some research on your model number but was not able to find a solution. Your expert will be able to help answer your question. It may take two business days for your expert to reply. If you would like to look into Sears doing the repair here is a link for Sears Home Services. I do hope that everything works out.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. The issue you're experiencing could be with the temperature probe (316490000) for your range. If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test the probe to verify the part. The temperature probe should remove from inside of the oven cavity. Remove the two screws that secure it to the back wall cavity of your oven. Then slowly begin pulling the probe out until you come to a quick disconnect wire harness plug. Disconnect the probe plug and then insert one meter lead into the terminal of the temperature probe plug and place the other meter lead into the other terminal of temperature probe plug. Place the dial on your ohms/volt to 200K. The temperature probe should measure 1091 ohms plus or minus 5.3 ohms at room temperature of 75 degrees plus or minus 2.5 degrees if it's okay. If it does not measure approximately 1091 ohms, replace the temperature probe. If the probe is good, then replace the main control board (316557207). You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance. Thank you for using Manage My Life.
