Question and Answers

Q:

kenmore flat top stove

A:

I know how dangerous it can be to have a burner that will not power off since the burner can heat up so high that most likely it will melt another part. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about your problem. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your symtom and details, the burner control for that specific radiant surface burner is faulty.

The burner control switch can be removed and replaced from the back of the control panel. You will need to disconnect the power cord, remove the knob and the two screws securing the burner switch to the control panel and then remove the panel from behind the control panel. Make a note of where the wires connect to the old switch before you remove the wires and replace the switch.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
