Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

In order to diagnose if the switch or burner is faulty, you will need a volt/Ohm meter. Since the switch is easier to access than the burner, check the right rear burner first. The panel behind the control panel can be removed to access the burner switches. When the burner switch is turned to High, the voltage should measure 220 volts when measuring across terminal H1 and terminal H2. If 220 volts is not measured, the switch is faulty. If it does measure 220 volts, the 6 inch radiant burner is most likely faulty and will need to be replaced. NOTE: I do not recommend measuring voltage unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I strongly suggest calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

The top can be hinged open by opening the oven door and removing the screws along the front bottom side of the top.
