locked oven door

A:

Having your Oven door lock can be frustrating to understand how to unlock without instructions. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, I have searched the Manage My Life website & found your owner's manual. I have attached the link below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Open the door and locate the oven door light switch plunger. It will be located in the upper left corner. Push inwards on the door light switch and keep it pressed in. Program and start the self cleaning cycle; wait 2 minutes and then press Stop/Clear and then wait to see if the door locking mechanism will travel to the unlocked position. Release the door switch after the latch as traveled to the full unlocked position.

If this does not work, you can access the door lock motor from the rear of the range. The door lock motor assembly and connecting rod can be removed. Push or pull the rod to lock/unlock the door. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear panel to access the door locking motor assembly.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
