Question and Answers

Q:

oven door handle 7909621940B Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the oven door handle coming loose. I know how frustrating that is.

It could be the threads on the handle have stripped some, and the screws work themselves loose. You could try replacing the handle, using Loctite, or even longer screws. I'm sure that will fix the issue. Technicians will often use Loctite on the screws when installing handles, it would be a cost effective solution. Outside of that, I would recommend replacing the handle.

I hope this helps and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

range terminal block burned out

A:

It can be inconvenient when a part stops working. I suggest you replace the terminal block or you can schedule service to have a certified technician come out and check what parts may have failed in the range. I am adding a link below that will help you with the part replacement while you wait for your expert response.

Thank you for your question.

I am sorry you are having a problem with the terminal block. We have not seen any change in the usage of the terminal block. If the screws that secured the power cord were not tightened, they will work loose over time. Once they loosen up the terminals will heat and char the terminal block. It will continue to work until it finally looses connection. The terminal block can be ordered from our parts website: Sears Parts Direct . If the wires are burnt, you will need to cut the wires back a little and crimp new ends onto the wires. The terminals can be purchased at any hardware store.

I have also found a video that shows how to replace the terminal block. Click here to watch the video.

Please let me know if you need further assistance on the repair of the range.

Thank you for using Manage my life.

The right burner goes on now and only goes to hot all the time does not vary in heat. Is something bad with the wiring farther back? The element light stays on all the time. Eugene
