Q:

model 790.96114408 what does code F10 on my range mean this my 2nd stove from sears and I'm tired of this mess

A:

I can understand that it would be upsetting to have problems after purchasing a new range, especially if the old range had similar issues. I did locate a similar question that may help while you wait for the expert response. If this is a new range and under warranty, if you decide to go ahead and schedule a technician to diagnose and make repairs, an option is the Sears Home Services link below. I hope this information helps in some way.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F10" fault code indicates the electronic oven control sensed a potential runway oven condition. It could have a faulty electronic oven control or oven temperature sensor.

The oven temperature sensor probe can be tested for resistance with an Ohm meter. The oven sensor is located inside the oven cavity in the upper left or upper rear corner. Remove and disconnect the two wires and place the Ohm meter leads across the two wires. At room temperature, the sensor should measure approximately 1100 Ohm of resistance. If the oven temperature sensor tests Okay, the oven control/clock assembly will need to be replaced.

I added a YouTube video showing how to test the oven temperature sensor.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
