Question and Answers

Q:

My oven works, but door and bottom drawer open a crack on one side.

A:

I know how important it is to have the oven door closing all the way especially when wanting to set a self clean cycle. I am sorry for the inconvenience and I did manage to find a link with a similar question. I hope this helps with your research while you wait for your expert response.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I could understand the oven door possibly getting out of kilter by pulling the range out by the oven door handle but I can't see it causing any alignment issues with the storage drawer. If the range fits tight between the two counter tops/cabinets, the range could be in a bind causing it to become out of square. The leveling legs could have also turned on you when sliding the range around too. I would check the legs and make sure all 4 are supported equal weight and the range is level.

Now, if the storage drawer is fitting flush to the frame and your saying there is larger gap between the top of the storage drawer and the bottom of the door, you may not have the oven door sitting all the way down.

I added a link to the Use and Care Guide and on page 23 it shows how to remove and reinstall the door. It will also show you have to remove and reinstall the storage drawer. You may want to try this. If your not able to figure out how to resolve the problem, I suggest calling a service technician.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post. If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

The normal function of the top elements on your range is to get red hot quickly the be off for a period of time. If the switch is set at low numbers such as 2-3 the element will heat for 2-4 seconds and be off for 10-12 seconds. The higher numbers will leave the element on longer and off for a shorter time.

I think the top burner is working normally. If you have questions, reply on this thread and I will be glad to help.
