Q:

F10 Error Code 7909611340F Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be more than happy to help with your range. Upon researching model 7909611340F; the “F10” error code indicates a runaway temperature. You can unplug the range power cord and remove the heating element and the oven temperature probe when the oven is not hot. With the parts removed you can test the parts for continuity using a multi meter, if any of the two parts test reads no continuity then that part may need to be replaced. If both of the parts test reads continuity then you may need to replace the electronic control board.

I will be more than happy to help with your weed Wacker.

Q:

Range element connection wire burned 7909611340F Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com. I will be more than happy to assist you. I can understand any frustration you may have experienced with regards to your unit. Let’s see what we can do for you.

Looking at the information on this Kenmore Range, I'm showing that the wire end wouldn’t be able to be replaced by itself. But I do have a part number here for the whole wire harness. The part number is 316510677. This would be the harness for the top element burners, and will replace all the old ends for the elements. Click here to go to the Sears Parts Direct website to get more information, and to order.

Hope this information has helped you. If you are not comfortable doing this repair you can click here to schedule a technician or call toll free 1-800-469-4663. Again, thank you for choosing SearsPartsDirect.com.

SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

I understand your frustration about this oven problem so close to Thanksgiving. We will try to help you get this problem fixed if you are willing to try some troubleshooting tips on your own.

That blinking "Oven Door Lock" light indicates that the control is trying to lock the oven door for that Self Clean cycle. You could have a problem with the oven door light switch. That is how the control detects that the oven door is closed. Press in firmly on that oven door and see if the door will lock properly. If it does, then the self clean cycle should start. After the self clean cycle, then door should unlock after the oven is cool. You can then use the oven normally. If pressing in on the door does not help, then you may need to open the door and manually press in the plunger for the oven door light switch. Hold it in if the door latch begins to move to lock the door. After the door latch assembly is fully extended, cancel the self clean cycle while continuing to hold in the oven door light switch. This may restore the control to normal operation.

If that does not help, then you may have a problem with the oven door lock assembly. That component may need to be replaced. I recommend that you reply with the full model number of the range in that situation. We can provide additional technical help for that repair. The model number is normally located on the base of the range in front of the right front leveling leg. Open the bottom drawer to view that area.

I hope that this initial information helps. We want to help you get this problem fixed.

You are probably correct about the door lock assembly being defective. The part number for the door lock assembly on your model of range is 316464300. Replacing that part may fix your problem. You can order that part from this page: Latch Motor for Kenmore Range Model 790.9611340F . Be sure that you UNPLUG the range before replacing that component. Note: You may also be able to find that component at your local Sears Repair Center or at another appliance parts supply center. If you replace that door lock assembly, you may still be able to use the oven on Thursday. There is a possibility that a wiring failure or a bad electronic oven control board is causing this problem so there is not a 100% guarantee that replacing that lock assembly will fix your problem. If you need more help, let us know.
