Thanks for contacting manage my life about your range/oven model 79096019404, I will be glad to assist you. Based on the description you have provided I suspect that the temperature probe is not functioning properly. The oven temperature can be calibrated but only by 35 degrees F. I have attached images of the resistance scale for the RTD. If the resistance is not correct replace the probe.  RTDI hope this helps, if you need more help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services. Ron H.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If you're getting the proper voltage supply (220 volts) to the range when measuring voltage across the two outside terminals at the terminal block and your measuring 110 volts when measuring from the center terminal to each outside terminal, the failure is most likely the electronic oven control board. NOTE: I do not recommend making any voltage measurements unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

I added a couple of images below of the wiring diagram. The second image shows where voltage must be present in order to power up the control board. If 120 volts is measured across the Line One (L1) and Neutral (N) and the clock/oven control will not power up, replace the clock/electronic oven control. I hope this is helpful.

If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Maria and Joey S, Thank you very much for your information. I've used a multimeter very sporadically, and once explained by my dad what settings to use, everything checked out except the clock/electronic oven control. Got one ordered. Thanks for your service to help people out so that if they are capable of fixing things with being helped with direction, they can keep their costs down and not involve a repair man.
