I see you have called the parts department and no luck with them, but something that you can do is have a technician go down to your home and look at it then order the part for you. A:

If you have not already removed the door from the range, follow the steps in the top of the image below to remove the door and carefully place it on a padded surface. The outer door glass is help in place by the trim (Key 3) and the top door trim (Key 52). Remove the screws (Key 10) that secure the top door trim and the door handle to the oven door. Remove any remaining debris from the broken glass. You may need to loosen or remove the screws (Key 60B) at the bottom of the trim piece (Key 3). You should then be able to position the new outer glass in place and reassemble the door.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

This may not be an easy repair to complete. If you do not feel confident replacing this glass yourself, then you can have a Sears technician complete this repair. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I replace the glass cooktop on my Kenmore electric range model 790.96018503?

A:

To replace the glass cooktop begin by disconnecting the power from the range. Slide the range away from the wall and remove the screws holding the frame that supports the console from the back of the cooktop.

  • Open the oven door and remove the screws that hold the top to the frame of the range. The screws are located above the door opening.

  • Lift the top and remove the screws that hold the hinges on the back of the range.

You will have to take the hinges and any other brackets off the old glass top and install them on the new one.
