Q:

replaced oven bake element stove will not heat up prior one burned in oven, is there a fuss somewhere to reset

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the oven not heating correctly.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your model number 316075103 but sorry to say it isn't in my system.   Model numbers are usually found if you pull out the bottom drawer and then look along the frame of the oven.

However I do have some ideas and ways to check the system:

ESTING ELECTRIC RANGE ELEMENTS:

1.  Unplug th oven from the wall outlet.

2.  Remove the racks from inside when you have the oven door opened.

3.  The elements have a screw on each side and need to remove the screws and pull the wires from the
    elements out.

4.  Turn the dial on a multimeter to Rx1k.  Place one lead from the meter on the terminal at the end
of the element, then place the other lead on the end of the other termial.  The needle on the
multimeter should register between 19 and 115 ohms.  Replace the element if no reading registers
    on the meter.

5.  If the elements are good then take the meter and test both wires that you hook to the bake/broil
    elements.

Please try that and if you need help then please resubit your question along with the complete model number.

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs. "Please resubmit" if there are any further questions or statements.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com.

Q:

having trouble disconnecting the bake element 79096014400 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when having trouble with the range.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 79096014400.

First unplug the range from the wall for safety reasons.

Remove the racks from inside the oven.

The bake element for this model.   First you need to unscrew the cover piece.   There is a screw on the left and on the right back hand side that needs to be taken out.

Lift up the cover piece and set it to the side.

Unscrew each of the screws that hold the bake element on for each side.   Pull the bake element out from the wall of the oven.

Unhook/unlatch the wires from the element, take the old one out and put the new one in and hook it back up.

Then just screw the bake element back in then screw the cover back in and you are ready to go.   Good luck

If you have further questions please let me know.

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. The "F10" fault code implies the oven control has sensed a potential runaway oven condition. This fault and be caused by the oven control board due to a shorted relay or the oven temperature sensor probe (RTD) may be faulty.

In order to diagnose which one has failed will require removing the oven temperature sensor from inside the oven cavity and measuring the resistance of the sensor with an ohm meter and comparing the reading with the RTD scale I added in the image below.

If the oven sensor measures approximately 1100 ohms, the oven control will have to be replaced. If the oven sensor does not measure approximately 1100 ohms at room temperatures, replace the oven sensor probe.

The oven control board is part #316557108 and the oven temperature sensor is part #316217001. Parts can be ordered and shipped to you from Sears PartsDirect NOTE: Disconnect the power supply from the range before removing and replacing the oven control.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

A:

Thank you for your question.

I can understand your concern with you oven door not sealing correctly. It could also effect your baking results from the door not sealing correctly.

It sounds like the hinges have been sprung a little.

  • The best thing to do is to replace the hinges.

  • But short of that you could open the door and lay a fat towel at the base of the door to prevent the door from closing and then lift the door and attempt to close it by putting a little pressure on the door to spring it back into position.

  • This is just a suggestion that has worked in the past if the door is only sprung just a little.

  • If this does not help you will need to replace the door hinges.

The part number for the hinges are;5304445529 and you can purchase them from;Sears Parts Direct .

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

I hope this will help.
