Q:

Oven Door Essembly 79096011400

Q:

Oven won't heat 790.96011400

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear of the issue you're having with the bake and broil elements not heating. I know how frustrating that is.

The likely failure is the electronic oven control/clock.  The L2 out of the oven control is common to both bake and broil element. The control board is likely failing to supply the L2 voltage to both elements and that's why both bake and broil elements are no longer heating up. In order to confirm this will require checking the L2 voltage IN and the L2 voltage OUT of the control board.

NOTE: I do not recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so.

Q:

My oven is not working properly 79096011400 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

I am sorry to hear that the oven is not heating properly. I know how frustrating that is to have happen.

Based on your symptom and details, if the broil element will glow red when broil is selected and the bottom of the oven does not get hot when Bake is selected, then I must assume the Bake element has failed or the Electronic Oven Control has failed.

The hidden bake element can be removed and disconnected and tested using an ohm meter. The hidden bake element should have 16-23 ohms of resistance. If the bake element tests okay, the electronic oven control board has likely failed.
