Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Remove the door assembly from the range following the instruction in your Use and Care Guide.  Lay the oven door on a protected surface. Remove the 4 screws along the bottom of the trim and the two screws securing the handle. Remove the handle and the upper cap/trim at the top of the door. The door trim should slide off. It could be stuck of taped to portions of the glass. Use caution to avoid breaking the glass.

Q:

Heati element replacement 79096002604 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Hello, glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. We, at Sears, value your service.

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when needing to replace burners on the range.

Glad to help out.  I’m looking at your Kenmore Range model number 79096002604.

1.  For safety awareness disconnect the power of the range by uplugging it or turn off the power at the breakers.

2.  Standing in front of the range.  Look on the top panel just above the oven door.  There should be 2 screws, 1 on each side.   Remove the 2 screws and the top lifts up.

3.  The top is now lift up you will see the bottom of the burners held in by a bracket brace.  There will be 1 screw on each side of the brace, they need to be taken out.

4.  Take a picture of the wiring so that when you take the old burner off and put the new one on, then you will know how the wires will connect to the new burner.  Take off the wires.

5.  The burners are held on to the brace by 2 clamps.   You will need to remove the 2 clamps.

6.  Put the new burner into place.  Clamp it down.   Re-connect the wires and do everything opposite to put back together.
