Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when your range isn't working and shows an F1

Per the model number790.95884301 that I am looking at.  When you have an F1 that means you need a clock/timer and the overlay that goes in front.   I have included a link to our PartsDirect page where you can purchase the part you need to complete your repair. Just click the blue link below to be taken to the page.

Thank you for your question. I can understand your concern about the oven. Now, since the top burners still work, it means the voltage to the range is still ok. The most likely problem now will be a defective control, however it's possible the element may have shorted and could have damaged the control. Some voltage and resistance checks will need to be made, to determine, if only one or both parts will be needed. I'm attaching a picture of the wiring diagram for this range. If you have a meter and feel confident that you can safely make these checks, reply to this thread and I will be glad to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
