Q:

Oven heating element will not heat. The stove and broiler work. 79095423302 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is trouble with the range not  heating.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore model number 790.95423302

If the broil element is working but the bake element at the bottom isn't working.   Then it would seem that it is the bake element you need or the wire connections to which the bake element screw on too.  Just to make sure here is instructions on how to check the bake element.

BAKE ELEMENT VERIFICATION:

1.)  Unplug the oven power cord from the wall.  Turn off the ovens breakers.

2.)  Bring down the oven door and take out the oven racks from inside.   Take out the bake element on the bottom of the oven.

3.)  Turn the range scale dial on your multimeter ro Rx1k.  Place a lead from your multimeter against the terminal on one end of the element.  Place the other lead against the terminal on the element.  The needle on the multimeter should read anywhere from 19 to 115 ohms.  If it doesn't take to the reading then time to replace the meter.

If you have further questions please let me know.

Thanks for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

Thank you for your question.  I am sorry you are having a problem with your Kenmore electric  range model 790.95423302.

Based on the made loud pop and the "F1" fault code displayed, I suspect it will need a new electronic oven control/clock assembly.  You also will need a new clock overlay too. The overlay must be attached to the front of the clock/oven control before installing the new oven control.

The oven control/clock assembly can be accessed and replaced from the rear of the range. The back panel behind the control panel can be taken off after removing the screws. The oven control is fastend with a screw in each corner. Be sure to attach the new clock overlay over the face of the clock/oven control before re-installing the new control board. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before servicing.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

I assume the surface elements will operate. If neither bake or broil element will not heat and the surface elements do, the electronic oven control is most likely faulty.

The electronic oven control and the over lay will need to be replaced. The electronic oven control #316207511 can be ordered from Sears Parts Direct as well as the overlay #316220841.

The electronic oven control/clock assembly can be removed and replace from the rear of the range. Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the panel from behind the clock/oven control.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
