Q:

Gas Kitcheaid Architect Series 2 oven has inconsitent temperture, and will accept reset by pressing bake to "00" (also is a convectious oven)...

A:

Having an error code on your oven can keep it from working properly and I know that you need your oven to bake a great meal and I hope to be of some help. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about your problem: http://www.managemylife.com/mmh/questions/121441-kenmore-model-79095419104-electric-range-correct-temp-oven. I hope my link is useful.

I am unclear about the symptoms that you are describing. You indicate that the oven has inconsistent temperature.

An inconsistent temperature can be caused by a bad temperature sensor probe or a problem with the control board. A number of other failures could cause this type of problem. I would need more details about the temperature problem to help you predict the cause of that failure. Let me know if the oven gets up to normal set temperature or not. How much is the temperature different than the set temperature and for how long would also be a detail that would help.

I don't understand what you mean when you indicate that the oven will accept reset by pressing bake to "00". Tell what buttons you are pushing to reset the oven and when the "00" is displayed.

I will try to assist you further with this problem once I receive additional information.

It is possible that you will need a technician to diagnose and repair this oven even if you provide additional details. This oven is not that easy to diagnose and repair. Here is a link for the Sears Service website in case you need it: Sears Home Services .

Q:

I own a Kenmore model 79095419104 electric range and I can't get the correct temp in the oven.

A:

The oven temperature is controlled by the electronic oven control. The control reads the resistance of the oven temperature sensor and cycles the oven accordingly. The oven temperature sensor increases resistance with heat. At 70 degrees the oven sensor should read around 1100 ohms. At 350 degrees the oven sensor should read around 1650 ohms.

Your problem could be caused by the electronic control or the oven sensor. To be sure which part is bad you would have to check the resistance of the oven sensor at room temperature and again when the oven reaches 350 degrees.

You can measure this resistance from the back of the oven control. Measure the resistance of the violet wires on the back of the oven control.
