Question and Answers

Why does the "element on" light stay on even though the elements are not on and are not warm/hot?

When an the "element on" light stays on while your stove is not in use it can be a concern. I understand why you would want this issue corrected. I researched your question and was able to find a couple links that may help you diagnose this problem. I attached both links below. Instead of resubmitting when you update your question you could simply add to this thread just to make it easier on you and to help the expert follow up on any updates or further concerns. I hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "Element ON" light is controlled by the burner switches. Each one of the burner switches will have a wire connected to a terminal marked "P". Do diagnose which burner switch is faulty causing the "Element ON" light to remain on, disconnect the range from the power supply and then remove the wire connected to terminal "P" from just one switch and position the wire so it does not touch any metal or any other wires or terminals. Reconnect the power supply and if the "Element ON" light remains off, replace the burner switch that you disconnected the wire from. If the "Element ON" light remains on, disconnect the power supply from the range, reconnect the wire and then remove the wire connected to terminal "P" from the next switch and continue the process until you find the light remaining off and then disconnect the power supply and replace that burner switch.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.
