Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on the fault code "F1" the oven control has failed. Disconnect the power supply from the range for 30 seconds and then re-apply power and if the code re-appears, the oven control board is faulty.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. The door locking mechanism will not operate in order to unlock if the range is unplugged. The door locking mechanism will need to have voltage before it will unlock.

There could be several possible failures preventing the door from unlocking:

  • Oven control board
  • Door lock assembly
  • Door light switch
  • Loose wire connection

Try this: Reconnect the power cord and push inwards on the door and apply light pressure. While pushing inwards on the door and holding light pressure, program and start a self cleaning cycle. Wait about one minute after starting a clean cycle and then press the OFF/Cancel button and continue to hold inward pressure on the door. Wait 30 seconds to see if the door will unlock.

If the door will not unlock then I would call and schedule a service appointment.

You can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

If the broil element is staying on, the contact inside the control is stuck. The control # 316207522 will need to be replaced. It's available at SearsPartsDirect .
