Q:

Why won't my bake element go off after I turned the oven off?

A:

From the details of your question it indicates a likely ERC (Electronic Oven Control) failure. The ERC has a bake and a broil relay that controls the bake and broil operation. It is likely the bake relay has shorted closed and cannot open to shut off the bake element. The ERC will likely need to be replaced.

I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

Maestro I have the exact stove that you have and my stove is doing the exact thing. I have to flip the breaker to turn it off. The bake elements comes on as soon as their is power to the stove and get really hot. I mean to the point that now its giving me a F1 error code. I'm trying to find out what this code is. So if anyone knows what this code is or where I may be able to find out the code please let my know.

A:

That type of failure could be caused by a bad relay on the control board. In some situations, it can be caused by a broken element that is shorting out to the metal cabinet.
