Q:

My oven to my stove is not working how do I fix it?

A:

With the Oven not working is not something any of us want to see. If you are technically handy, this is a good site to get instruction and fix some things yourself. If you do not feel confident doing your own repairs, an option is to visit Sears Home Services and use the scheduler. While you wait for the expert to review your model, you can check the bottom links for some possibilities. Hope this is of help.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

If the surface elements work then we know the range is getting the 220 volts. If neither bake nor broil elements will heat, I would suspect a faulty electronic oven control board. Before replacing the electronic oven control, disconnect the power supply from the range and inspect the bake and broil elements for any signs of cracks or blisters. If one of the two oven elements has shorted, it will take out the old oven control board and the new one too if you do not replace the element before installing the new one. If the bake and broil elements appear normal, replace the electronic oven control board/clock assembly. The control board/clock assembly is part #316455420 which can be ordered from Sears PartsDirect .

To remove the electronic oven control board, remove the panel at the back of the control panel. Remove the screws securing the control board and remove one wire at a time and reconnect it to the corresponding terminal on the new control. NOTE: Be sure to disconnect the power supply from the range before removing the panel.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

There is one check you don't mention. You say you get 120 volts on each element connector but you don't mention getting 240 volts across the element.

Checking voltage is hazardous and should only be done if you are extremely confidant doing so.

The image below may be helpful to you.

If you check the two circle terminals on the control or if you check at the element you should read 240 colts. If you don't then there may be a problem with the voltage or the relays on the control.

You can check from Line 1 to line 2 for 240 volts. If this voltage is not here then check at the terminal block for 240 colts.

I hope this helps. You can reply with any additional details or questions for further assistance. Please use extreme caution making these checks and only if your comfortable doing so.
