Question and Answers

Q:

Replace dual radiant element 790.94454700

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when needing to replace the element on your Range. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found information that will assist you with your repair.

A slide in unit will have to be removed from its' installed position to remove the main top. Make sure to disconnect power before repair. You will have to remove the screws around the perimeter of the top on the sides and back of the unit to release the main top. In some cases, the knobs have to be removed to allow access to the large nuts under them. When these are removed, the control panel can be released and the screws under this panel can be accessed.

Let me know if this helps. Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Q:

How do I install the oven door glass on my Kenmore range?

A:

Please see the images provided on removing the oven door. Set the door down on a protected counter top with the handle facing up. Slide the top edge off of the counter just far enough so you can remove the door handle screws #10, have somebody hold the door for you. Once you get the door handle & trim loose you will be able to access the outer glass for replacement. Please see the images provided for more details.

Q:

How do I remove and replace the bottom panel in my Kenmore electric range model 790.94454700?

A:

First, unplug the range to completely disconnect electrical power. Open the oven door and remove the racks inside the oven. You will see two thumb screws at the very back of the bottom oven panel (Key 43 in the image below). Remove these screws. Carefully pull the back of the oven panel up and release the lip on the front of the panel. Remove the panel from the oven and replace it with the new one.

Be sure to replace the thumb screws in the back of the new panel.
