Q:

My Kenmore Electric Range

A:

Thanks for contacting manage my life about your range/oven model 790.94383700; sorry you are having a problem, I will be glad to assist. Based on your description of the surface burners and the oven both not working, the only reason for both not to heat would either be multi components failing at same time or there is no power feeding through the range. The most likely would be a power supply issue. First pull the range away from the wall so you can access the terminal block the power cord connects to inside the back of the range. _Always disconnect power supply before servicing the appliance and when testing live voltage be sure to wear proper safety equipment (gloves and eye protection) also be aware of sharp metals on product_If you have a volt/ohm meter or just a good volt meter check the power at the terminal block that the cord hooks up to. You should read 240 volts ac + - 5% across the two outside terminals, and 120 volts ac + _ 5% from the center terminal to each outside terminal. If this reading is correct you will need to inspect the range for broken wires from the terminal block to the control area. If you are not reading the proper voltage then a breaker is tripped or thee is a wiring issue in your home wiring. Electrician will need to be called. I hope this helps, if you need more help reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services. Ron H.
