Q:

replace dual burner 79094382700 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for choosing Searspartsdirect.com and being a valued member. I can certainly assist you in locating the instructions to replace the burner for your range.

A slide in unit will have to be removed from its' installed position to remove the main top. Make sure to disconnect power before repair. You will have to remove the screws around the perimeter of the top on the sides and back of the unit to release the main top. In some cases, the knobs have to be removed to allow access to the large nuts under them. When these are removed, the control panel can be released and the screws under this panel can be accessed.

Q:

What can I do to make my oven hotter so it will cook properly?

A:

There are 2 things contributing to your problem. One, the oven temperature is not calibrated correctly on your range. Two, your oven has the hidden bake element and that makes preheat take longer than with a conventional oven.

You can schedule service and get a technician to calibrate the temperature of your oven. It is under warranty and won't cost you anything.

If you would prefer to calibrate the temperature yourself. The instructions for calibrating the oven are on page 21 of your owners manual. If you decide to calibrate the oven yourself, be sure your thermometer is accurate. If your thermometer is a mercury thermometer it should be accurate. If it is the bi-metal type with a spring and a pointer, I would not trust it. If you schedule service the technician can check your thermometer for accuracy.
