Q:

Element On indicator light wont go out 79094332703 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I will be happy to help with your range. Upon researching model 79094332703; the elements have an element limiter switch. The limiter switch completes the circuit to the hot surface indicator light. It could be the switch is malfunctioning and sending power to the hot surface indicator even though the element is not on. The switch could need to be replaced.

Thank you for choosing Sears. We appreciate your business. Have a great day.

Thank you for submitting your question. I understand your concern and I will be happy to assist you. It should normally take about 10 to 12 minutes for the oven to preheat from room temperature to 350 degrees. It's also normally recommend to preheat the oven for 20 to 30 minutes for more sensitive items such as cakes or cookies. This will allow the oven to cycle a couple of times and equalize temperatures better. However, if it's taking much longer than that for preheating, the issue will be with the oven sensor (316490000) or the main control board. If you have an ohms/volt meter you can test the oven sensor to verify the part. If the sensor reads good, then the issue will be with the main control board (316557118) and it would need replacement. If the sensor reads bad, then replace it. Here's a great video on how to test the sensor. You can order parts from our Sears Parts Direct web site. I hope this information helps. Please reply back to this thread if you require further assistance with this repair. If you do not feel comfortable performing test or repairing this problem yourself, I recommend scheduling for service. You can schedule for service online with our Sears Home Services team. That range model 790.94332703 uses clock control board part number 316557118. That is a control that is type ES305. Your range 790.94682300 with the control 316207511 uses an ES300 control. Those clock control boards will not be compatible. You can perform a web search for the 316207511 or the ES300 control. I am sometimes able to find used parts or good deals using that search method when I need parts that are not available through Sears.

Let me know if you need more help.

I did a web search a found a cheaper price for that part on the Sears PartsDirect.com website. The normal price for that part is $167. The link below shows that same part available from the Sears PartsDirect.com for $99. I recommend that you consider ordering that part through that link. I did not find it cheaper from other sources at this time.

No. That model uses control board part 316557118 which is the same ES305 control as the model 790.94332703 that you asked about previously. The control in that range will not be compatible with your model 790.94682300. If you need more help, let us know.
