I can understand how important it is to have the right information for your oven. The "F10" indicates a run away temperature which could be caused by a faulty oven temperature sensor or a faulty Electronic Oven Control (EOC). I added a YouTube video showing how to TEST the oven temperature sensor probe. It it tests faulty, replace the sensor. If tests Okay, replace the EOC. It should measure approximately 1100 ohms at room temperature if it's Okay.

The oven temperature is located inside the oven cavity and is usually seen protruding into the oven cavity in the rear upper left corner. Sometimes it can be removed and replaced from inside the oven cavity if the two screws securing it in place are visible. If the screws are not visible from inside the oven cavity then you have to access and replace the sensor probe from the rear of the range. If you don't feel comfortable doing this yourself, just click on this link to schedule service: Sears Home Services . I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please reply to this thread. That type of problem is almost certainly caused by a bad burner switch in the console. Ordering and replacing that burner switch for affected burner should fix your failure. You can order that burner switch from this page: Kenmore Range Model 790.9421440A Backguard Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing and replacing that part.

Here is a link for a previous answer that shows how to replace that burner switch: replacing burner switch

These tips should help you fix that problem without ordering unnecessary parts. If you need further assistance, reply to this thread with additional details.
