That left front burner has a simmer switch and a simmer select control board in that circuit. You indicated that you replaced the switch. If you replaced the simmer select switch and the burner is still not working, then you could have a problem with the simmer select control board or the burner infinite control switch.

We can likely help you diagnose and repair a problem with that burner if it still is not heating. Reply with additional details regarding the component that you replaced and your current problem. We will assist you further once we receive more information.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician examine and repair the range, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .

Thank you for your question.

I can understand wanting to have the oven bottom looking like new.

I do not think you can get all of it off because it has melted into the oven bottom material.

If you will please reply with the complete model number I will be able to tell you if you can replace the bottom of the oven with a new one.

790. XXXXXXX.

This information is located behind the storage drawer if it is a freestanding range.

Thank you for using Manage My Life.

Thank you for the model number. Yes you can replace the bottom over panel on this model. You will need to open the oven door. Then remove the oven racks. Then locate and loosen the two chrome screws on the back of the oven bottom. Then lift the oven panel from the back and when you get to about 30 degrees pull towards the back of the oven cavity to release the front lip of the oven bottom from the front part of the chassis. The part number for the oven bottom is: 316400601 and it sell fro about $36.00. To install the oven bottom reverse the procedure by tucking the oven bottom in the front slot in the chassis and then lay the oven bottom down and secure with the screws. I hope this will help with your oven bottom replacement. Sam A.

I was just joking there, Sam. (But my "G" next to the last remark didn't appear.) I think I can handle the panel replacement. But If I can't, I know where to go. Thanks for your help. Much appreciated.

Afraid Texas is a bit off the beaten track for me. I'm in New York (Long Island to be more precise). But if you ever get to my Big City, dinner is on me! Thanks for your help.
