Why won't the oven turn on in my Kenmore range model 790.94102701?

A:

Since you checked the voltage coming out of the control board then your failure is limited to the bake element or the wiring traced in blue on the wiring schematic shown in the first image below. I recommend that you unplug the range and check for damage to bake element. Check the wiring connections on the leads of the element. Since you apparently have a multimeter, you can check the resistance of the oven element (with the range unplugged). You will normally measure between 8 and 40 ohms of resistance. If the element is open (measures infinite resistance) then it will need to be replaced. If the element is okay then I recommend checking the continuity of the wiring between the bake element and the electronic oven control board. These tips should help you determine the cause for your oven failure. If you need more help, resubmit your question with additional details.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
