Question and Answers

Q:

Why is the oven burning the bottom of my baked goods?

A:

Here are some tips that may help you resolve this problem:

  • Give the oven extra time to preheat properly. The bake element may still be cycling on longer and more often just after the oven appears to be preheated and heated up to the proper temperature.
  • Even though you verified the temperature of the oven is correct, you may try baking your items at a slightly lower temperature.
  • Minimize the time that you have the door open when placing items in the oven. If you have the door open for a long time, then the bake element will need to cycle on longer and more frequently to heat the oven back up and maintain the temperature. This can cause burning of the bottom of some baked goods.
  • Try using a different type of baking pan. Using glass, darkened, warped or dull finish pans can cause the bottom of items to burn in some situations. Make sure that the outside bottoms of your baking pans are clean and do not have dark spots on them. This can cause uneven baking.

This is a joke this is NOT what is wrong there is something wrong with the oven . I have been cooking for years in this oven and have had no trouble until now. Why is it that the people who work on ovens don't know how to repair them?
