Q:

I have a Kenmore stove with an error code of F1. What does this mean?

A:

Error codes can be an inconvenience and keep your range from working properly. I did some research and I was able to find two links that describe similar questions. I hope this helps while you wait for your expert response.

That F1 code in this situation probably indicates that you will need to replace the EOC (Electronic Oven Control board). You can check the bake and broil elements for damage. See if they are shorted to the metal cabinet. If you see no physical damage to those elements, you can unplug the range and check them with a volt/ohm meter as shown in this video: Bake and Broil Element Testing . Those elements should measure between 10 and 25 ohms of resistance. If an element is bad, it will need to be replaced. If the elements are okay, you can also check the oven temperature sensor probe with that volt/ohm meter (with the range still unplugged ). You should measure around 1100 ohms of resistance through that sensor at room temperature. If the sensor and the elements are both okay, then replacing just that EOC board should fix your problem. You can order parts from this link: Kenmore Range 790.92684301 Parts . Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components.

Holding down the Stop/Clear pad for three seconds will activate or deactivate the door lock feature on your range. The instructions for unlocking the door are on page 13 of the owner's manual and I provided you with a link to the manual below.
