Question and Answers

Q:

I want to change panels on my electrc range to stainless. model #790.92429302 can you send me new part numbers 79092429302 Kenmore Electric range

A:

Thanks for the inquiry and for being a valued member.

Unfortunately, the only color option available for this model is black. Typically, if a range or appliance has varying colors, there will be multiple options within the parts list for each color. The only options offered for this unit are black. We wouldn't have part numbers to recommend for stainless panels.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thanks for using SearsPartsDirect.com. We appreciate your business.

Q:

My kenmore electric range popped and sparked while baking and now has no power. What happened?

A:

Oven's are an appliance we use on a daily base so when they have problems it can get really concerning. While you are waiting on an expert to answer your question, a suggestion I have is to visit Sears Home Services website to set service with a Sears technician. And if are interested in buying a new Oven you can visit Sears.com website. I have attached the links below. Hope this helps!

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. Based on your symptom and details when the electrical short happened, it caused the house circuit breaker(s) dedicated for the range to trip. You could try locating the two house circuit breakers dedicated for the range and rest both breakers by flipping them OFF and ON 2-3 times and then see if the range will power up.

One of the oven elements may have burnt out and shorted, or it could have been caused by a wire shorting to ground or it could have had an electronic oven control board failure.

This type symptom and failure should be diagnosed and repaired by a service technician.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
