Question and Answers

How can we remove light brown stains from outside glass on oven door?

A: is a great place to find the answers to just about anything, especially on appliances. I'm sorry that you are having the same issue that we have with the oven glass. Our problem is on the inside of the glass. It was caused by spills or glass cleaner used to clean the stove. I have attached two links that will explain the problem. One is a video. I hope this sheds some light on the problem until your expert can respond.

I assume that those stains are on the inside of that outer glass. To remove those stains, you will need to pull the oven door off as shown in the first image below. CAUTION: That door is heavy . The second image shows the part diagram of the door on your range. The third image shows a basic procedure that should help you remove that outer glass so that you can clean it. According to the parts diagram, you should be able to remove that glass by removing the screws that secure the handle and the upper trim to the door. You will then need to remove screws along the bottom of the door and remove the trim to pull out that glass. If you pull this oven door apart, make sure that you reassemble it properly. If you are not completely confident that you can clean that glass yourself, I recommend that you have a service technician clean it the first time. You may be able to observe the procedure and complete that task if it ever needs to be cleaned again. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

Spills that drop down through the vent at the top of the range can cause this problem. Do not allow liquids to drip down through the vent in the oven door. This may help you prevent stains in the future.

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
