Q:

Kenmore Electric Range F9 / Door Lock error

A:

When the normal clear sequence does not work and replacing the control panel does not help, I can see additional expert input would be needed. The expert will review and respond with specifics to match the work already done but I did locate a similar question with a few suggestions that may help. I attached to the link below.

There is not a lot to go wrong. Not counting the door lock motor the only controls are 2 switches and the control unit. I have verified the switches (and mechanically bypassed them) and changed the control unit. I added 2 pics.

It seems that something I did "fixed" it. I pressed the bake button and got the "dr" display. The door lock motor started it's cycle like every other time. I also held the stop/clear button (to try to clear the door lock "FEATURE") for about 20 seconds. This time when the motor stopped it was in the unlock position, like before, but the door locked light was not blinking. The oven controls work. Now the big question; should I try to finish the clean cycle that started the whole problem.

A:

I recommend that you check to see if the door lock will work using that Oven Lockout feature. If the door lock works in that mode, then you should be able to use the Self Clean function normally. If you need more help, let us know.

Q:

I have a Kenmore range model 79092321300. The oven does not heat up, bake or broil. What would that be?

A:

If the top burners are working and the oven won't heat at all you probably have a wire burned in the oven circuit or a bad oven control.

I recommend you schedule service and get a technician to diagnose and repair the problem.
