Question and Answers

Q:

what does e code mean?

A:

Having an error code on your appliance can be very inconvenient since this can keep it from working properly. While you are waiting for an expert answer, I recommend you resubmit your question and include the model number of your oven so that the expert will provide you with a more detailed answer. I did manage to find a link that will provide you with more information about your problem. I hope my link is useful.

Thank you for the question. On this type of problem we will need a model number. Depending on the make & model will depend on what to check for each error code. Most ranges have 5-6 or more error codes. I am sending you the most popular Kenmore range error code list. Please reply back with a good model number for further assistance if still needed.

Biker Dave, The model is 79092312303. The error code list was not helpful. The LED had "e" and nothing else. I unplugged and then replugged the unit and then it worked OK. My concern is what is wrong? Is it temporary or note impending doom and does it require professional attention, something I can take care of, or something like a circuit breaker that is a safety device and requires not action? Thx,

After reviewing the service manual & owner's manual I do not see an "e" code or digit like an "e" listed anywhere. I suspect it is a display board problem if it comes back. If the unit is under warranty I recommend calling for service; otherwise I recommend using the range normally until it fails to work properly. Please report back to us if you need further assistance. Thank you.
