Question and Answers

Q:

Oven not heating at all. All four burners working.

A:

When a major appliance such as an oven doesn't work it can be difficult to adjust without it. So I understand your concern. I researched your question and was able to find a couple links that include information on an oven not heating. I attached the links below. I hope this helps.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The first thing to inspect is the two oven elements. Inspect the bake and broil element for any signs of cracks or blisters. Both bake and broil elements are used during bake and if one of them burns out and shorts, it can cause the electronic oven control to fail. So, if one of the elements has burnt out, replace the element before installing the new control board. If the oven elements appear normal, the most likely failure is the electronic oven control. The electronic oven control is accessed and replaced from behind the range. If you feel confident in repairing it yourself; remove the panel behind the control panel and the 4 screws securing the control board to the bracket. Disconnect one wire or connector at time and transfer it to the new control. NOTE: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the rear control panel cover. You can order the electronic oven control for Kenmore model 790.90929400 range at Sears Parts Direct.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
