Question and Answers

My Kenmore oven, model number 790-909-22401 coils do not heat up. What can it be?

In reference to your Kenmore oven, model number 790.90922401;

The oven must be hooked up to 240 volts in order for it to work properly. The standard 120 volts will not allow for the unit to heat properly.

Usually, when an oven won't heat, it's because the element(s) is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

The element is available for purchase at Sears Parts Direct .
