Q:

what is f10 error code on my oven

A:

I understand that you are getting the error code F10 on your oven. I have taken some time to research your question here on the Manage My Life website and I noticed that someone else had asked a similar question with a posted response from an expert. I attached the link below for you to view. I hope the link below is helpful.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern. We have to have a working oven especially during the holidays.

The F10 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects a runaway temperature condition in the oven. Temperature is detected by the control through the resistance of the temperature sensor probe circuit. You did not indicate whether you were using the oven when this fault occurs. You also did not indicate whether the oven is overheating. If you are not using the oven when this F10 occurs, then the oven control board is likely causing the problem. If you are using the oven when the fault occurs, check the broil burner to see if it appears to be staying on all of the time just before the fault occurs. If it is, then this would also indicate a problem with the oven control board. If the oven is operating normally, you could have a problem with the sensor probe or the wiring between the control board and the sensor probe. You can try replacing the oven temperature sensor probe (part number 316217001) to see if this fixes the problem or you can remove and disconnect the oven temperature probe and check the resistance using an ohm meter. It should measure approximately 1100 ohms at room temperature. This is an inexpensive part (about $15). If you have the same problem after replacing the probe, then the oven control board (part number 316418206) would need to be replaced.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .
