Thanks for the information about your model 790.79523…., Sorry you are having this issue. The issue you have described, oven not maintaining temperature and beeping while attempting to, could be a sign of many things from a control glitch, wiring connections to component failures. There is no reset button. My suggestion for resetting would be to disconnect power supply to product, for at least one minute, after reapplying power check operation and if there is still an issue you should call for service as testing will requires special tools and equipment and the experience of a qualified technician. Here is the link to: Sears Home Services I hope this helps. If you need additional assistance please reply with added details and I will be happy to respond. Ron H.

We had this same thing happening- not only during cleaning, but a general problem keeping the oven turned on! This range has been a pretty big disappointment over all, but in this case, they were able to fix the issue by swapping out a thermostat or some such. It had only recently become a known issue with this unit, but it was a known issue for sure. While we have other goofy issues with this range, this particular one is gone.

We have this same problem. Got the range in 2012 and the issue started almost immediately, although it would resolve itself if we turned it off and on and it didn't happen all that often. Now, it is a constant thing and happens almost every time we use the oven. Always happens on "bake" and happens less frequently on the convection settings. Husband HATES this rate. Wants the GE profile range back. I picked this one out, so it is "my fault". Arrrgh. We have a repair person coming tomorrow. I sure hope it can get sorted out. This beast is too heavy to just swap with someone or sell on Craigslist. I love the way it looks and the range top is GREAT, but this oven makes us want to take the shotgun to it.

Q:

Kenmore Pro Dual Fuel Range Model 790.79523 Broiler comes on during bake & conv. bake 79079523604 Kenmore Pro Dual fuel range

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is problems with the range.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Range model number 79079523604.

Sounds like you need to get the ignitors checked first for this oven.

How to test gas ignitors for ranges:

1.  Unplug the oven from the wall for your safety.

2.  Lower the oven door.  Sometimes best to have more room and just remove it.

3.  Remove the oven racks from inside.  Remove the lower panel when testing the bake ignitor.

4.  Remove the burner shield by taking out the screws that secure it to ignitor first.

5.  Next take out the screws that hold the ignitor.  Pull the ignitor away from the oven wall.
Unclip the wire connector.  If the wire connector is not accessible, remove the back rear
panel to the oven, or remove the bottom storage drawer to access the wire connector.

6.  Get a multimeter to the lowest setting so you can measure the Ohms of resistance.  Calibrate
the meter. Refer to your meters instructions

7.  Place one of the terminals on the ovens bake ignitor's terminal with one of the multimeters
probes.  Then touch the other terminal with the other probe.

8.  Check the multimeter's display  If the meter does not move, displaying a resistance of any
numbers on the Ohms of resistance, there is no continuity.   If no continuity then the bake
    ignitor is bad.

NOTE: You should not perform this live voltage check unless you are completely confident in your technical ability to safely execute it.

Please refer to my question. This is a DUAL Fuel range. The oven is electric. The problem is while baking or convection baking the broiler comes on sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't.

Misery likes company. I have a similar oven (model 790.79523.600) with the same issue. I've burned the thanksgiving turkey and many other dishes due to this issue. If I change the temperature down, say from 400 to 350, it happens. sometimes if I add dish after preheating it comes on. Truly an unacceptable behavior from a "professional " oven. Where does the problem lie?
