goes off 79079422601 Kenmore Elite Gas range

Thank you for your inquiry on your Kenmore Range, Model: 790.79422601. I am so sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with your new refrigerator. From reviewing the details on this model, by the symptoms, you are having I suspect the control is losing the required voltage or the board is heating up and fail. To determine what the cause is you will need to monitor the voltage to the control. This requires using a voltmeter and working around live voltage. Working with live electrical current can be very hazardous and possibly deadly. Testing voltage output requires working with electrical current. Do not attempt this measurement without the proper tools and safeguards. If you feel comfortable making these checks, pull the range out and unplug it. Then remove the back panel to access the control. Once you have access to the control look for the black and white wires on pins 4 and 5. These two wires supply the voltage to the control. Leave the connectors attached to the control and insert the meter leads into the backside of the connector. Once you have them securely connected to, the wires turn the meter to check AC voltage. Now without touching any wires plug the range back in and turn the oven on. You should have a reading of at least 110 volt AC. if you still have this reading when the control blanks out I suspect the control board is the fault. If you lose the 110 volts, I recommend unplugging the range and checking the wires for loose connection. I also recommend checking the wall outlet. If the contacts in the outlet are loose, it will cause this problem.

Safety Warning: Before beginning this repair, disconnect the power supply to the range to prevent risk of injury from electrical shock.

Caution: internal parts may have sharp edges that may cause serious cuts. Use caution and wear protective gloves if possible.
