Q:

What can I do to fix uneven and too-low flame on right front burner? 79079363404 Kenmore Elite Gas range

A:

Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com. It is unfortunate to hear that you are having issues with your range and I do understand your frustration. Glad to help out. I'm looking at your model number 79079363404 and based on the description you have provided it is unclear if your range is operating on natural gas or LP gas. This range can operate on either and knowing which you are using would be helpful.

If I understand you correctly all the top burners are burning at a low rate. If this is indeed correct my first suspicion would be a bad gas regulator that regulates the gas pressure to the range, this would normally affect the oven as well and that would be more difficult to recognize as the oven would just heat to temperature slower. I suggest you inspect that function of the range operation before proceeding.

Before you make any repairs or parts replacing I would strongly recommend calling your local gas supplier and have them check the gas pressure to the range.

If the pressure being supplied is correct and the burners and oven are not reaching high volume in the burn the most likely reason is the regulator. However other factors may be involved causing poor gas flow to the burners, such as blockage in the manifold, burners clogged and more.

Please resubmit any additional details and  advise if you are using LP or Natural gas, and if the oven is affected also.

I hope this helps, please keep in mind that working on any gas product you must use extreme caution and check foe gas leaks at all connections before operating the product. If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link.

Thank you for responding. In answer to your questions, we use natural gas. The problem is only with the right front burner; the other 4 are fine.

Q:

Kenmore Elite Stove DEAD LED Panel 790.79363404 Please Help :)

A:

Thank you for choosing Sears Parts Direct. I can certainly understand how frustrating it can be when your Control panel on your range does not work. I did look into the model number you have provided and I have found that there is no power going to the control panel. Since you have already checked your breakers as well as wires it sounds to me like the electronic control board behind that panel has went out. When a control board goes out it stops all the functions of the oven and clock of your unit. The surface burners will still work because there is power still going to the unit and letting the igniter spark. If you need to order the control board you can always visit searspartsdirect.com when you are ready. If you need more information on the issue I would recommend calling 18004MYHOME and scheduling a technician to come out and take a look at it.

Thank you for your question. Have a great day.

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

There should be a quick disconnect plug at the end of the igniter wires. It sounds like the quick disconnect plug might be hanging up on something preventing you from pulling it through opening. You may need to pull the range out from the wall and remove the rear panel to access the connector or go ahead and cut the wires and splice the wires together using the ceramic wire nuts. The new igniter will usually come with two ceramic wire nuts to use if you have to cut the wires and connect them to the new oven igniter wires. This may be the issue. If not, please reply and I will be glad to assist you further.

NOTE: Be sure to have the power cord disconnected before servicing your range.
