I don't have a video for that repair but I did provide a basic illustrated procedure in the image below that should help you with this repair. You will first need to remove that door from the range. NOTE: That door is heavy. You may need 2 people to safely lift the door off of the range. Place the door on a padded surface and follow the procedure shown below to access that inner door glass. Make sure that you reassemble the door properly after replacing that glass. Your exact door may look slightly different than the one shown in the image below. You can view the parts diagram of your door on the Sears PartsDirect website if necessary. If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will try to assist you further.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

What would have failed to prevent my broil ignitor from glowing?

A:

In order to diagnose the failure since the broil ignitor is not glowing is to check the voltage supply to the ignitor with oven control set to broil. The ignitor must have voltage in order to glow red. The failure could be the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) board, the oven safety valve or it could have a broken broil ignitor.

The voltage is supplied by the electronic oven control board when the broil relay closes on the control board, the voltage/current must pass through the oven safety valve and then to the broil ignitor. If the oven safety valve circuit is open inside the safety valve there will be no voltage at the broil ignitor. If the electronic oven control board fails, there will be no voltage to the broil ignitor. If the igniter is broken, the igniter will not glow.

The failure is likely the Electronic Oven Control (EOC) unless the broil igniter is broken in two.

I added the theory or operation and how to diagnose the failure in the images I added below.

NOTE: I do not recommend checking voltages unless you are experienced and feel safe and confident in doing so, otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

Q:

Where does the foil go on the outer glass door kit I purchased for my oven. It is a model 790.79014102.

A:

The glass door kit should have come with instructions showing what to do with the foil tape. If you did not get the instructions you should return the kit and ask the parts folks to send you another one.
