Q:

How can I get in between the oven door glass to clean spills that got inside the oven door window?

A:

I added the instructions on how to remove the oven door, parts diagram and the general instructions on separating the inner door liner from the outer. I recommend paying close attention to how the door comes apart as you take the door apart.

There is NO WAY I would take the door apart and try to put it together again ..... I would need an expert to do that. Seems this is a product limitation ---- and I shall have to bear a NOT TOO CLEAN door --- wish I had know this when purchasing. It would require a service call and expense to do this as it is a product poorly put together to expect a person to take the door apart!! You ARE kidding -----!!! Your comments? Nancy U.

A:

I understand your frustration with this problem Nancy. That is an advanced procedure that is best performed by a service technician. Some home owners are able to pull the door apart and put it back together properly after cleaning that inner glass. That is why we try to provide that repair help when asked. It is sometimes easier to watch a technician perform that repair and then decide whether you want to attempt it in the future if you need to clean that glass again. That type of oven door is typical for virtually all ranges and ovens regardless of brand. They must have some type of venting for air flow through that door. It does not reflect a product that is poorly manufactured. It is a design characteristic that is common in that type of appliance. Taking steps to avoid getting spills or liquids down into the inside of that oven door is important on all ranges and ovens. I don't mean for these comments to sound harsh but I just want to be honest and realistic regarding spills inside the oven door.

I am sorry that you did not receive the email that you were promised from our website.

Here is some information that should help:

The F90 is an error code which indicates that the maximum unlock time for the oven door lock was exceeded. If the oven door was not locked when this code was displayed, it could indicate that you have a bad electronic oven control board. If the oven door was unlocking when this code was displayed, you could have a bad door lock assembly or a wiring problem in that circuit.

When the clock display for the electronic oven control board is not staying set, you are likely loosing voltage or the neutral circuit to the control board. Make sure that the outlet cord for the range is plugged in securely.

The first image below shows the wiring diagram for your range. The L1 voltage supply to the control board is traced in red. The neutral circuit is traced in blue. The second image shows a diagram of the control board. I recommend that you unplug the range and remove the upper back panel on the back of the console. Check the black and white wires connected to the control board for the L1 and neutral connections. If these connections are okay, you could have a bad control board. A wiring problem in the traced circuits or a bad voltage supply through the outlet could also cause this problem.

I recommend that you have a service technician diagnose and repair this type of problem. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you suspect that the control board is bad and want to replace it yourself, you can order a new control board (part 316418501) from the Sears PartsDirect website. Unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing internal components.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.
