SAFETY NOTICE: Be sure to disconnect power to the appliance before performing any repairs. If you are not comfortable with doing any voltage checks that might be recommended, please contact your local service provider for repairs. Be aware that there could be sharp edges inside the appliance that could cause cuts or other injuries to yourself or others.

From what you’re describing it sounds like the broil igniter needs replaced. First, disconnect power to the range. You will need to access the broil burner assembly to check the igniter & use an ohmmeter to check the resistance of the igniter; the meter should read 80ohms. Please see the image provided below for access & testing instructions. Other possibilities; safety valve or wiring harness problems.
