Question and Answers

Q:

Kenmore Elite Oven/Range

A:

Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Based on your details, the drawer slide may have been jammed and then the slide assembly came apart and the ball bearings fell out. The slide assembly will need to be replaced.

Without having the model number of your range I would not be able to provide the part number of the slide assembly. You can however look up and order the part(s) from Searpartsdirect.

Enter the complete model number in the "Enter Your Model or Part Number field and then in the Select Type field, select model and then Search.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

Hi Joey. Thanks for the response. I tried the website, but got stuck. I typed in the model number, well, one of them from the manual, and a page shows up showing a bunch of model numbers that I cannot match to my manual. I'm thinking it's on the back of the range. Man, it would be a pain pulling that thing out. My manual shows model number 790. 7830*, 7840*, 7841*. Do you think that the part is the same for all of the models shown on the manual? Actually, looking at it again, the website calls them partial model numbers. This is a bummer, just in time for Thanksgiving. Please, if you can advise any further, I would appreciate it.

Paul: The model number tag is usually located around the oven cavity on the frame after opening the oven door. It could also be located on the oven frame after opening the drawer. Yes, the Use and Care manual will have partial model numbers and all of them would most likely use the same storage drawer slides. I assume it is warming drawer and not a storage drawer. You can look up parts at Searspartsdirect.com using model 790.78303010 or if you find your model and serial number tag, use your model number to look up the drawer slide.

Q:

A:

I understand how inconvenient this can be. While you are waiting for you expert answer, I have found a link to the lp conversion intructions. I was not able to locate lp to natural gas. The size of the Natural gas orifaces are listed the instructions and where they go. I hope this will help you.

This type of conversion should be completed by a qualified installer.

The LP conversion instructions that Aashe provided in the above response are slightly different than the exact LP conversion instructions for your range.

I provided the instruction sheet for LP conversion on your model of range in the images below (4 pages). The procedure for converting the range back to natural gas is shown at the bottom of the 4th image. If you saved the natural gas orifices, then the installer can replace the LP orifices with those natural gas orifices. If you did not save those natural gas orifices when the range was converted to LP gas, then you can order the natural gas orifices from the Sears PartsDirect website.

Along with the orifices being switched, the regulator needs to be converted and the oven burners need to be adjusted for natural gas as described in the procedure below.

You can check with your local gas supplier for a qualified installer to complete this conversion. You may also be able to find an installer on the ServiceLive.com website. Here is a link for that website that has service providers in most areas: ServiceLive.com .

If you need more help, reply with additional details and we will assist you further.
