I can understand your concern over wanting to know why the clock on your range does not work. I did some research and provided a link to a similar question and answer on our site. There is a feature on the control that will turn the clock display off when the oven is not being used. That function is shown in the first image below. If that feature is enabled, then you can restore the clock display using the information shown below.

If the clock does not appear when you press a button on the clock control, then you may have a wiring failure or a bad electronic control board. The wiring diagram in the second image shows the power supply to the electronic oven control board traced in red and green (actual wire colors are black and white). You can unplug the range and check those wiring connections on the control board. Remove the back panel behind the console to access that electronic oven control board. If the wiring connections are okay, you can carefully check the voltage going to the control board through those wires using a volt/ohm meter. Wear electrical safety gloves and safety goggles when checking that live voltage. Unplug the range as soon as that live voltage check is completed . If the control board is getting voltage but won't light up at all, then that component will need to be replaced. You can order that part from this page: Electronic Clock Controller for Kenmore Range Model 790.77469803 . You will normally need to replace the overlay (part 316419306) at the same time when replacing that electronic oven control board. Be sure that you unplug the range before accessing internal components and replacing parts.

This information should help you fix this range problem. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

If you get to the point where you need to have a service technician diagnose and repair this failure, you can schedule service through this link: Sears Home Services .
