Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

Without knowing the complete model number of your Kenmore range I can only provide general information.

Based on your details, it sounds like it could have a faulty electronic oven control board or the control board lost the power supply in order to power up.

So that's what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. The model numbers are typically located behind the oven door along the oven cavity opening or along the frame behind the broiler/storage drawer. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

Thanks so much for the reply. Model # is 79077433900. I have reset all the power to the kitchen and that is the only appliance which is not responding. Is the board fairly easy to swap out?

Dawn: The electronic oven control is easy to access and replace. You access the electronic oven control by removing the panel from behind the control panel. Just be sure to disconnect the power cord from the power source before removing the panel from behind the control panel. The control is fastened by 4 screws in each corner. Remove and transfer one wire at a time from the old control board to the new one and you can't go wrong. The part number of the electronic oven control (EOC) is #316557211.

Kelly: I will need to have the complete model number in order to provide specific troubleshooting assistance. If the surface igniters are not working and the clock/oven control is dead and the oven cavity light is not working, it sounds like its lost voltage between the outlet and the range. Try plugging another appliance or something in the outlet to confirm it works. So that's what I can tell you at this point. I can give you more detailed help if you could provide me with the complete model number. If you could supply me with that information I will be happy to assist you further.

Joan; In order for the bake burner to come on and heat, the bake igniter must receive voltage from the electronic oven control/clock assembly and the bake igniter must glow and pull enough current/amperage to open the oven gas valve. You will need to remove the oven floor and flame spreader and then turn the oven on to bake and see if the bake igniter will glow or not. If it does not glow, it could have a broken igniter, faulty electronic oven control/clock assembly and/or slight possibility of an open circuit in the oven gas valve. The bake igniter must have a 120 voltage supply in order for it to glow. If the bake igniter is glowing, the bake igniter is weak and not pulling enough current/amperage to open the oven gas valve. The bake igniter can be disconnected and tested with an Ohm meter for resistance/continuity. Note: Disconnect the power cord from the power source before disconnecting and testing the bake igniter for resistance/continuity.

I have the Kenmore Gas Range Model 790.7433. In the minimum and maximum control settings it says that the convection oven should be able to be set as low as 170 degrees. But in the directions for using the convection oven it says that it can only be set between 300 and 550 degrees. I am trying to bake some granola that needs to be set at 200 degrees. I'd really like to use the convection at this temperature because it would cook it better. Is there a way to set the convection temperature to 200 degrees?

Q:

Kenmore 790 controls not responding 79077433900 Kenmore Gas range

A:

Thank you for choosing sears I would be happy to help you with your range. Upon researching model 79077433900;  it sounds like the electronic control board may need to be replaced. The electronic control board governs the functions of the oven so when it fails it will normally affect the oven and the controls will become unresponsive. I have posted a link of the control board to view the link click here.

I trust that this information will help you, thank you have a great day.

Carlos, thank you for the reply. If it makes a difference, the actual model number is 790.71383704. Not sure why that other model number popped up, but I couldn't seem to change it. Would the control panel part number be the same? Thanks
