Thank you for your question and I understand your concern.

The "F9" fault code implies the electronic oven control has detected a problem with the door latch motor assembly. The door latch motor assembly is mounted at the rear of the range behind the panel. You can access the latch motor and remove the mounting screws and then push or pull on the rod that connects to the latch in order to unlock the door. If the latch motor is not getting voltage, replace the oven control board. If it's getting the voltage supply, replace the latch motor assembly. NOTE: I do not recommend checking voltages unless you have experience and feel safe and confident in doing so; otherwise I recommend calling a service technician to diagnose and repair your range.

I hope this is helpful. If I may be of further assistance as more details become available, please reply to this post.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Q:

How do I replace the igniter in my Kenmore oven?

A:

Remove the 2 screws, #43 image 1, holding the oven bottom panel in place. Remove the flame shield, #82. You will now see the igniter #19 attached to the burner #18 in image 2. Remove the 2 screws securing the igniter in place for replacement of new igniter.
