I know it can be frustrating when the oven stops working. If the ignitor is glowing and the oven burner valve does not open, it would indicate a weak oven ignitor. If the ignitor doesn't pull enough current/amperage, the gas valve will not open. The ignitor # 5303935066 is available at SearsPartsDirect . Its more likely to be an ignitor failure than the valve. If you would like more assistance, additional details will be helpful. Thank you for using Manage My Life.

If you do not feel confident repairing this problem yourself, then you can have it repaired at your home by a Sears technician. Here is a link for the website: Sears Home Services .

Mike, if this is the same model, there is separate igniters for the bake and broil burners. If the bake igniter is not glowing and if you have a meter, disconnect the power and check the igniter resistance. Disconnect the igniter wires and check to see if there is any resistance across the wires. If you get no reading at all, the igniter will need to be replaced. If you do get a reading, the igniter should be ok and it could be a problem with the oven control. If you would like to have a technician check, this you can call 1-800-469-4663 to schedule a tech to come out. I hope this will help you.

Q:

I have a code on my Kemore Gas Range; its DR, what does that mean

A:

Error codes are just so complicated. It would just be so much easier if the display just wrote what was wrong, but of course not nothing is ever that easy. I have found the meanings to the error codes that you are showing here on Manage My Life posted definitions of the error codes from experts. The DR code indicates that you have a problem with the door latch assembly. The latch may not have fully retracted when unlocking the oven door or you could have a switch or wiring failure on that mechanism. A failed control board could also cause this problem. A technician will normally need to diagnose and repair this type of failure. Here is a link for the Sears Service website: Sears Home Services .

If you want to try to fix the problem yourself, replacing the door latch assembly will likely repair this failure. You can access this component by unplugging the range and removing the lower back panel. NOTE: The metal edges of the back panel can be sharp. Protective gloves are recommended. Check the wiring connections on the latch assembly. If the wiring connections are okay, then the latch assembly will probably need to be replaced. You can order this part from the Sears PartsDirect website. The part number is 5304449471. There is a chance that a failed electronic oven control board or a wiring failure could also cause this problem. A problem with the oven door switch could also cause this failure. If you need more help, submit additional details and we will assist you further.
