Thank you for your question. I should be able to help you replace the ignitor in the oven. You may not have to remove the back panel of the range but you do need to unplug the range first. Then follow the steps below.

  1. Open the door a little bit. The door should stay. Then lift the door off the hinges and put it aside. This makes it easier to work around.
  2. Remove the bottom drawer of the range and put it aside.
  3. Remove the bottom (floor) of the oven. There should be two along the back holding it in. then put it out of the way.
  4. Remove the flame spreader from the top of the burner. Once the spreader is out you should be able to see the ignitor.
  5. Remove the two screws in the ignitor and follow the wires. Sometimes the plug for the ignitor is behind the bottom drawer near the gas valve. Once you find the plug, go ahead, disconnect it, and install the new ignitor in the reverse order.

Make sure you do not touch the charcoal colored part of the ignitor. The oil from you fingers can cause the ignitor to fail right away.

Q:

Why doesn't my oven heat on my Kenmore gas stove model number 790.75721990?

Why doesn't my oven heat on my Kenmore gas stove model number 790.75721990?

One of the main problems can be a faulty gas regulator. Once you get the gas flowing to the upper burners that allows the gas flow to the oven and allows the oven burner to start working. I recommend replacing the gas regulator. Other possibilities; too low of gas supply pressure, collapsed gas line or wiring harness problems.

Q:

How do I replace oven main burner igniter on a Kenmore model 790.75721990 gas range?

A:

For most gas ranges to access the main oven igniter you access it by removing the bottom panel of the oven.

The image below is for a similar model and the pictures should be helpful to accessing and changing the oven igniter.

I hope this information is helpful resolving your problem but if you have any additional questions then submit another question with additional details for further assistance.
