Q:

Rangae conversion 79072851301

A:

Hello glad to help.  Thank You for choosing Sears PartsDirect.com

I am sorry and do understand your frustration when there is parts needed for the range.

Glad to help out.   Im  looking at your Kenmore Gas range model number 79072851301.

The conversion instructions are not available online and only come with the LP kit. There are no written instructions on converting the range back to natural gas, only instructions for converting it to LP gas.

To convert the range back to natural gas will consist of removing the LP orifices and installing the original natural gas orifices back in the burners.

Below is a list of the Natural gas ignitors/with natural gas orifice.

Right front natural gas ignitor/orifice 79072851301 is part number 316237801

Right and left rear natural gas ignitor/orifice 79072851301
is part number
316237701

Left
front natural gas ignitor/orifice 79072851301 is part number 316237800

The pressure regulator will need to be converted back to the natural gas setting.  Needs to be adjuste by a person who knows and trained in gas line.

Sears does not provide gas conversion services. I recommend you contact your gas company. If they do not provide gas conversion services, they may be able to help you locate a qualified technician in your local area.

Please "RESUBMIT YOUR QUESTIONS IF THERE IS ANY OTHER PROBLEMS".

Thank you for your understanding in this matter and I hope we can help you with your future questions and repairs.  Thank you for choosing Sears and using our SearsPartsDirect.com.

Your details indicate that the broiler won't stay lit. In that situation, you could have a problem with the igniter. Here is a link for brief video that explains the ignition process in the oven: Gas Ignition Operation . If that broil igniter glows but the broil burner will not light, then you will probably need to replace that broil igniter (part 316119302). You can order that part from this page: Broil Igniter for Kenmore Range Model 790.72851301 . That part costs around $126. If you replace that part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range before you begin that repair procedure.

There is a chance that you could also have a problem with the bake igniter and/or other components in the range. The bake igniter costs around $65. You can view other parts for the change and check out their prices on this page: Kenmore Range Model 790.72851301 Parts .

It would cost about $100 for a technician to diagnose the range and provide you with an estimate for a repair. The total labor charge (including that initial trip for diagnosis) would probably be around $150. It would likely cost around $250 to $300 for a technician to complete this repair. If you decide to have a service technician complete this repair, you can schedule service through this page: Sears Home Services .

Note: If you intend to have the range repaired, you may consider purchasing a Sears Service Smart Protection Agreement. That policy would cover the initial repair. It would continue to cover the range for 1 year. It does have a limit of $500 for parts and labor per technician repair visit. If a single failure costs more than $500 to repair, then you could pay the extra amount if it is small or you could get $500 of credit toward a new range at Sears. You can call Sears at 1-800-469-4663 (1-800-4MY-HOME) to discuss the details of that Service Smart Protection Agreement and purchase it if you choose.

I hope that this information helps. If you need more assistance, reply with additional details.

Lyle, thanks so much for the assistants. Nothing is more frustrating when people give you the run around for the dollar, which I don't mine paying if they are going to fix it. No one would even give me an idea without paying them. Thanks again....
